Quick Summary

Average. Much better off road than on, the Pinin is pretty to look at but there's little to back it up. Good around town but tiresome over longer distances.

The Pinin was styled in Italy and is something of a fashion statement to rival the Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V. Unfortunately, it's nowhere near as much fun, with a three-door version that only feels comfortable on smooth roads and packs little interior space. The five-door is a better buy with a 2.0 engine, plus improved ride and bigger cabin area. Fuel economy and performance are fair and you can specify an automatic gearbox on both versions. A lightweight body means Shogun Pinin is susceptible to motorway crosswinds and there's not enough refinement to make ownership enjoyable.
