As part of a wide-ranging agreement, Suzuki is to build a new city car for Nissan from 2007.

The car, which will be sold in Europe, is said to be an all-new model. Whether it is simply a successor to the Suzuki Wagon R+ (also sold as the Opel/Vauxhall Agila) is unclear - Nissan's British spokesperson said that no details had been released by Japan.

One would hope that it will be more European-focussed than the Wagon R+. A competitor to the Toyota Aygo could be quite interesting - and the recent Swift shows that Suzuki has a far better grasp of European tastes than previously suspected.
